This series deals with personal feelings
about the passage of time and with the sense that the world
is presently a dangerous place.
Horses and birds are used as surrogates. Birds symbolize
flight and a readiness to face the future. The presence of
horses is meant to suggest distance already traveled. Bridges
signal hope and the ability to move forward and to survive
whatever may be in store.
Graphite on handmade paper and oil paint and tar on canvas
and linen have been used to create these pieces. |
